What Happened in Salem: Week of June 19th

While the “Great” Island Adventure wrapped up in the span of one episode…

Before leaving town for New York, Chloe told Nicole that she and Holly belong together and handed the baby over. Nicole and Brady were grateful and then insisted on spending an entire episode crowing about how happy they are and how things are finally perfect, which in true Salem style conjured up a call from a judge, who decreed that Nicole isn’t fit to be a parent and placed Holly in foster care for 60 days. Nicole told Brady that she plans to prove that she’s a fit mother, which will probably mean telling the judge all about how she was engaged to the Great Daniel Jonas, and if he deemed her worthy, who is anyone else to say otherwise?

why am i not shocked this happened with holly? i don’t know what i expect from a soap opera……happy endings once in a blue before the hammer comes down too soon? yeah, that makes sense….

put the baby in foster care when there are plenty of fam/friends that could care for her…… oops. where is my suspension of disbelief??

It just feels like such a strange stutter-step in the story. Why couldn’t the judge have placed her back with Chloe? Or with Maggie? It just feels so hyper-contrived.

it feels that way because it is that way !

Well…Maggie is a certainly a logical choice for custody as Holly’s grandmother however wouldn’t it be a conflict of interest since Nicole lives at the K Mansion alongside her?
Why did a different judge presided over this case. I find it funny that this judge as opposed to the first judge deciphered Chloe “stole the baby” which she essentially did bc she didn’t bother to tell Nicole that Nicole/Daniel were the biological parents for weeks after giving birth when Brady forced it out of her.

It was extremely abrupt and very rushed the way the Jungle Madness/Greek Island arc wrapped up. They were rescued, returned to Salem, and Paul was cured faster than LensCrafters could make a pair of chartreuse reading glasses to coordinate with Kayla’s cardigan from Eddie Bauer and shift dress by Lilly Pulitzer.

Well, there are only like four residences in Salem, so the judge should cut them some slack! Holly will probably wind up in foster care at the mall anyway.

I thought having a new judge there was so jarring. They used that other judge for both hearings and for the Kate/Andre wedding, so why not use her for one more episode? Really strange.

That island rescue had to be a rewrite. There was that one episode where John/Marlena decided to go, and then we didn’t see them for a week and a half, when they showed up on the island. I wonder if some alternate rescue mission was cut.

i loathe that judge. ugly. mean. stupid. ugly. pompous.

  5. UnderYourWing Says:

hey…also….did not john damn quit this ISA BS?? i thought he was done. period…now all of a sudden he has to go on yet another “mission”…..please. if only DOOL knew they were causing major drug/alcohol abuse in their viewers!!!

    • mykleraus Says:

They made a whole thing of him quitting to open Black Patch and be close to home, and then as soon as Drake got injured, they had him offscreen and said he was with the ISA again. SMH.
