Minor Character Returns

I guess this could be entertaining…

Jason47 reports on his Facebook page thatĀ Spencer Neville, who played horny bellhop Derrick, will reappear in Salem this fall.

I assume this ties into Sonny and Paul beginning to reconnect, and if they’re going to throw a third party into the mix, it might as well be a familiar face. I also think Sonny and Paul couldĀ use an interloper or some outside complication, because they’re both such fundamentally decent people that creating drama between the two of them in a bubble might be tough. My gut tells me this’ll be another short-ish-term stint, which is fine, but I always found Derrick’s aggressive thirstiness hilarious and honestly wouldn’t mind if he weaseled his way into the Kiriakis family via marriage to Sonny and they played him like a male Nicole circa 2001-02.

I LOVED Derrick! While Sonny, Will and Paul were playing the most conflicted confused and chaste characters on the show Derrick was like “Let’s make it a foursome!”. Maybe he can be the Butler at The Martin House since he does light housekeeping? I’d watch myself around Tony Derrick…

I know that was Un-PC but come on Tony. It’s 2016…

He’s a fun character. The actor is still a little stiff, but he plays a mischievousness that the show could use. And yeah, in some ways, he felt like the only ‘real’ 20-something in that gay quad a year and a half ago.
