What Happened in Salem: Week of March 7th

If you’re ever wondering what to do when you have both a kidnapping and a wedding on your calendar…

Even though Stefano is as dead as a… well, as a person who doesn’t live in Salem, Marlena managed to meet her monthly kidnapping quota — this time, while babysitting Arianna — when she was snatched by some people who have an interest in John and Eduardo. The two men were lured to a warehouse (a.k.a. 2016’s version of the park bench), where they were coaxed into drinking something from a Thermos. A shootout occurred, and Rafe, JJ, and Lani appeared as backup. The good guys managed to take out the shooters, and Marlena and Ari escaped safely — but Eduardo took a bullet for Rafe.

In reference to Ben, Lucas said something along the lines of “just hearing his names gives me the creeps.” Ummmm…did everyone forget to tell Lucas that it was actually Ben that killed his son, and not Aiden?? “he gives me the creeps”…HE KILLED YOUR SON!!!!

Gabi’s mom having “left for salem 2 weeks ago”, she has to be connected into this Eduardo/John story somehow, right? I’m thinking, what if she’s been working for the “bad guys” all along? We find out that Mrs. Hernandez is some crazy king-pin who trains killers…that would be interesting. But, then I remember that this is DAYS and she’s a woman…so I’m sure that means she’s tied up somewhere waiting for a man to save her….

I fully expected Mama Hernandez to be the disguised voice in the warehouse! But yes, I’m sure she’s hog-tied in a trunk somewhere and Eduardo will save her, causing her to forgive him for abandoning her with four children decades ago.

I don’t think Summer is really Maggie’s child. I choose to think it is just a well played (so far) con. I think some viewers are afraid that Maggie’s Daniel worship will turn into Maggie’s Summer worship. Even if Maggie believes Summer is her daughter I don’t think it will be the same. Mother/daughter relationships are much more complicated and tangled than mother/son relationships. Not the same at all.

Summer looks like she could be Anne’s sister! BTW, what happened to Anne?

Even though the wedding was sparsely attended, I did enjoy watching Chad marry Abigail. I even teared up over the vows…..DOOL still shines in the wedding department!
