Now I See It

Boy, is Chloe a garbage parent. After taking her son to the mall to tell him that his father was killed, she for some reason keeps bringing up the fact that they are going back to Chicago (in several days, after the funeral) and that Parker will have to go with her and leave Salem forever. Maybe just make it clear that he’ll go to Chicago with you for a while and then come back to Salem to see his loved ones? Or, like, pretend otherwise for a while?

At least Nicole was able to get through to him. The trick? Having the exact same hairstyle as the child you’re attempting to reason with.

This kid totally looks like he could be Nicole’s kid, rather than Chloe’s or Daniel’s, which is weird considering that the entire point here is that he isn’t her kid.

(Also, did they just completely drop that Chloe/Philip/Belle thing from Monday? She walks into TBD, sees them together, pronounces that “it’s just like old times” [even though Philip once again has a new face], and then… we don’t see the rest? WTF?)

Meanwhile, Brady has Daniel’s heart, so he’s having visions of Nicole in her prostitute get-up from the time she sued Serena and Xander in the course of an afternoon.

Who didn’t see this coming a mile away? But also, this sort of story works a lot better when the recipient of the heart hasn’t been having casual sex with the deceased’s beloved on and off for years. All Brady is really doing here is thinking about an old booty call. It isn’t like he’s having strange sexual visions of Maggie or something!

It looks like the little boy playing Parker probably doesn’t want to come out of that fort because he’s a vampire. It’s American Horror Story: Salem!

Ugh, I’m rolling my eyes at this dumb vision of Nicole. I’m bored so far with the aftermath of the crash, it’s so predictable/uninteresting to me. I don’t feel like we’re seeing any new interesting material with Eric either. Now what, he’s going to jail or something and we’ll never see him again? So lame. Meanwhile the writers now want us to believe that Daniel and Nicole had some ‘great love story’. Do they not remember that he was all sanctimonious for months and months, and they were never really ‘in love’?

This new Hope/Rafe storyline also doesn’t really work for me.. I don’t know if I really believe that Stefano is really dead, but this Hope/Rafe pairing seems very forced.

I really wish they would center Nicole’s grief more on the fact that she almost “had it all” — husband, child, respectability — than on this alleged love for the ages she and Daniel shared. AZ is selling the grief, but they aren’t being true to what we saw onscreen. She loved the idea of Daniel, not Daniel.

The weird thing about Hope/Rafe is that they don’t have to work so hard — they have chemistry and seemed to be coming together naturally a while back. Now they’re cramming “Rafe is Hope’s hero” down our throats, and it’s having the opposite of the intended effect!
