What Happened in Salem: Week of May 4th

Another week, another round of idiotic Salemite decisions…

Nicole finally told Daniel to kick rocks, but sadly, it was only a ruse so that she would be free to get close to Xander and find out more about his association with Serena — which somehow is an even worse plan than just trying to date Daniel. Serena forged ahead with her plan to move to Hawaii and continued to bully Eric into going with her, presumably so she can take him to luaus and then rush out before they even begin, just like she’s done with every meal they have ever attempted to eat together in Salem.

i like “Paul” WAYYYYY better in Hawaii 5/0 !

I only saw Paul’s Hawaii 5-0 clips, but I agree, he plays a sinister bad ass best. He’s so cute though on Days … like a cuddly teddy bear. Can’t wait for him to get back to Salem and hang out with Sonny while Will is in Poplar Bluff. I pray they give him his own apt and not a room at the Salem in.

He’s really great at those soapy longing looks and pauses. One of the better casting choices in recent years, for sure.

“Help Hope and Aiden kill airtime.” lol! Hope must be pretty good in the sack for Aiden to put up with Doug and Julie….and Sierra for that matter! It even looks like Daniel Cosgrove is actually playing it that he’s all friendly and pretending to adore them, but underneath is just cringing and wishing their next cruise ship would sink so he doesn’t have to put up with their ball crushing.

I get the whole drug set-back for JJ and Paige, but I honestly feel like it’s going to just be a dead weight story. I think Casey Moss and Cassie were only able to carry the story for so long, and they did such a fantastic job and I was with them the whole way. But I don’t have a good feeling about the drug bust angle…it’s like grasping for straws thinking this story can keep going but it’s just running into the ground. I think it’s time for the whole thing to blow up in JJs face, for Paige to go off to Stanford never to return to Salem again, and for JJ to blame and despise Jennifer, and take a downward spiral. Then Eve can work on getting with Rafe and helping Theresa get Brady … I’m really loving the Eve/Theresa scenes these days too.

I noticed that too about DC/Aiden. Doug and Julie are a WHOLE lot to handle! It really is a shame that Hope and Aiden reverting to having, like, no story. I’m glad they get some time to be happy, but there are only so many ways to do a scene of “I’m happy for Hope!”

This drug thing stinks. I like that Paige suspected Eve that fast, at least. JJ’s an idiot if he does anything other than toss that weed in a dumpster, which in theory should not be hard but of course will be. The fact that Jennifer mentioned this party they’re throwing for Paige suggests that everything is finally about to blow up, though…

It’s always fun to see Doug and Julie. Julie adding in a touch of zen to her busy-body ways is fun. And, watching Big Gay Doug sing show tunes to a young, impressionable Chase was entertaining.

Why did Zander get dressed before Nicole came over? He should have opened the door in his towel. Has he never seen any of the Misty Circle movies??

Thanks for your recaps to keep me up-to-date on what’s happening with Jennifer/Daniel/Eve/JJ/Paige. You watch, so I don’t have to. 🙂

I was cringing through Doug’s singing to Chase! It’s fun to see them, but the singing always gets me in a not-so-good way.

I have no idea about Xander. And he put on a damn tie! Why are people on this show always so eager to dress up?!

I prefer Xander in a towel. He should find an excuse to be half naked as often as possible.
