What Happened in Salem: Week of April 13th

Another week, another round of fretting over those stupid “diamonds”…

Tori admitted the truth: that John is Paul’s father. She explained that she’d come back to Salem to tell him but saw that he had become a priest and left. Perhaps she could have made an even stronger case by explaining that she witnessed him preparing an exorcism for his ex-wife; who could fault her for not wanting to involve a kid in that? A hurt and betrayed Paul claimed he wanted nothing to do with John, and when John went to the hotel to find him, he was told the Naritas had checked out. In the fallout, John was angry at Marlena for not having told him sooner; Marlena warned Will to stop acting like Sami; and Sonny was so upset with Sami Jr. that he couldn’t even bring himself to talk things out with his husband.

  1. Dylan Says:

I need to find a new show. This is all so boring, and the German soap opera that I usually watch “Verbotene Liebe” has been cancelled / turned into a crime thriller web series show. I actually was off the grid this week so I didn’t watch anything after last Thursday’s episode but I’ll probably just watch the Paul/Sonny parts to catch up

  2. Andie Says:

In my opinion, the Paul Paternity and Kristen bringing up Theresa’s baby “bubble boy” story lines are the best material Days has at the moment. Thank god some of the vets are still on sometimes such as Victor; I was dying laughing when Victor yelled outsude Adrienne’s bedroom door, “Lucas your fired!” 😄

    • mykleraus Says:

      Victor is amazing.

And yes, those two storylines are generally working. They feel like they have momentum and some drama. Everything else is soooo dull.

  3. Andie Says:

By the way, has Tori eaten yet? Paul seemed to be conerned about that. Meanwhile the other ladies in Salem are eating like Queens scarfing down pasta, fruit salad, and sushi. I was cracking up when Zoe arrived for her meeting/date with Chad and ditzy Abby realized the sushi was not for her. 😂 I’m suprised Ben didn’t smell/taste the fish on her breath when he kissed her.

    • mykleraus Says:

LOL about the eating. It’s true! Abigail was so ridiculous in that scene. Anyone with half a brain could tell where that was going, and she just kept chomping away.

Man, what are the odds that of all the thousands of times the Salem men throw on a shirt, the only time I’ve EVER seen them button it wrong, AND have one side tucked in and one tucked out, is when JJ came down from being with Paige. There are so many other ways to have written them looking guilty, so the only excuse I can come up with for it being as cheesy as it was is that a 17 year old cheerleader won some Days contest and her prize was she got to write that scene.

Eve needs to schedule an apt with Marlena ASAP … anyone having the kind of reaction she had to their kid sleeping with someone needs some serious psychiatric intervention.

I suspect the only reason Nicole and Daniel scenes are even getting produced is because their contracts require they get a certain amount of air time per week. On the bright side, at least there haven’t been any full-episodes on them like the one that got made with EJ and Sami.

If we are going to have to deal with months worth of scenes of Cole plotting with Eve, can they at least hire a good looking actor for the role?

Abigail needs to get kidnapped or something … she is so freaking annoying and that scene with Chad and the sushi was just ridiculous.

Well, Lucas proves yet again that he is a chump. He plays 2 games of cribbage with his son’s mother-in-law then declares he’s in love when she jumps into bed with the 1st guy who’s interested in her on the same day that she confirms her husband cheated.

    • mykleraus Says:

My biggest gripe with Lucas is that he actually thought Kate could be trusted! That woman has no scruples whatsoever. She just threw her son under the damn bus for a job.

I don’t even get what Eve and Cole are plotting. “Become friends with Paige!” Okay, and…? Eve is completely out of control.

I think the actors who play Daniel and Nicole are together in real life now. It almost feels like they asked to have story together and the show is writing this badly out of spite, which is a strange way to go about producing a show…

      • otherweb1 Says:

Considering how Kate has always been a protective mamma bear to her kids, maybe her master plan is that once Victor makes her CEO, she’ll have the power to higher Lucas back, and give him a promotion?

Writing Nicole/Daniel badly out of spite … HAHAHAHA! Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if that were true….

      • mykleraus Says:

She sort of implied to Lucas that’s what she was going to do, but it still sounded ridiculous. I’m sure she will weasel her way out of this pretty quickly, though.

  5. Jamie Says:

It is truly un-watchable!! If it were not for the scenes with Kate/Victor and Lucas/Adrienne on Friday, I would’ve skipped the episode entirely. As it was, I only watched about 10 minutes and hit the FF on the rest of the day.

I don’t know what it is about Lucas and Adrienne. I like the friendship they have built, and given the history of both characters, I find the possibility of more interesting, yet seeing them in bed together just feels SO WRONG. I don’t like it and it’s very hard to watch, even though there isn’t much else interesting to watch…

    • mykleraus Says:

I’m not minding Lucas and Adrienne, though I actually am surprised they’re getting extensive love scenes. I really thought I’d be more turned off by the pairing, but the actors bring a real sense of fun to the scenes, which helps a lot.

      • Jamie Says:

I don’t mind the pairing either, I actually rather enjoy it as it was so unexpected. I just don’t want to see it. It makes me feel dirty, somehow. Lol

      • mykleraus Says:

Haha. I’m okay with any chance to see Bryan Dattilo half-naked, still.

      • otherweb1 Says:

I’ve met Brian Datillo … unfortunately, he’s a bit of a dog without stage makeup. He’s also very loud and obnoxious.

      • mykleraus Says:

I’ve heard not-great things about his behind-the-scenes behavior, too.

      • otherweb1 Says:

Allison Sweeny has got to be the worst though. She is frighteningly obnoxious and a big-time attention seeker. Even her co-workers were annoyed with her, especially Ariane Zucker. Lol!

  6. underyourwing Says:

i miss sami and ej. there. i said it !!

    • mykleraus Says:

Agreed! I was a little tired of their dynamic by the end, but they were strong enough characters (and actors) to carry a show. There’s a major hole without them.

      • otherweb1 Says:

I’m thrilled that Allison Sweeny and her bad acting are finally off, but I def miss EJ. Although, Billy Flynn is doing a really good job so far as being the DiMera lead post-EJ. And now we have Xander too, so it’s like a 2-for. What’s missing though is a evil dynamic duo. I can’t think of any double bad-seed couples … except maybe for Eve and JJ! Oh, and btw, he has 3 wild romps with Paige’s mother, then has the freaking gall to sleep with Paige, AND she’s a virgin to boot??!!! THEN Jen hails him as a hero, AND was the ring leader in getting him into bed with her? Seriously, JJ should be with Theresa … now that would be a nice set of twin evil flames. Or I’d love to see Kristen make JJ her boy toy.

      • mykleraus Says:

I don’t understand Jennifer’s goal here. JJ and Paige having a nice chaste courtship for a while isn’t going to make his sex with Eve disappear. She should be forcing hint to live with the consequences of his actions!
