They Come From a Land Down Under

Australia’s Arena channel has apparently been co-sponsoring some kind of casting contest with Days, which is culminating with these three men coming to Los Angeles to audition for a role on the show.

I’ll put the rest behind the cut just in case…

This could amount to a whole lot of nothing, but you never know.

Arena and Corday Productions Inc. and Sony Pictures Television are offering the chance of a lifetime for these actors to play the role of Fynn, a handsome, rugged Australian doctor who arrives in Salem to do his residency, specifically to gain skills as a surgeon, working under the supervision of Doctor Jonas (Shawn Christian).

The role offered to our new found Aussie hunk will hit our screens for the first time, in a 13 week role which will culminate during the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations in November.

I mean, of course this character will be connected to Daniel, and also can any of them do an American accent and just be the new Will? And also-also, who spells it Fynn?!

Yes, but will Daniel have to treat him for something and then have to sleep with him like all his other patients? That aside, I guess middle dude.

I was really hoping that would happen after he saved Sonny’s life from the stabbing, just to get Victor’s reaction.

If we can get a whole episode devoted to Sami / E.J. / Abigail’s dream then we should at least get a Daniel nails one of his male patients dream sequence.

In terms of Fynn or Flynn, didn’t I just describe a character similar to this about three to six months ago who would cause problems for Daniel and Jennifer? I feel so in tune with Dena Higley it’s frightening.

To be fair, there are no other doctors on canvas for this to work. Kayla is recurring and a COS so I don’t think she would have an intern under her. I do like that they are using the hospital in a grander sense.

Ha, seriously! Though I don’t think I could take even MORE of the population clucking about how studly Daniel is…

I like that this is hospital-related, too. One of the bigger problems with establishing Jordan, IMO, was not making her more a part of that hospital community. She had very few scenes with Daniel, Kayla, Marlena, and Maxine, and I think weaving her in through her colleagues might’ve helped keep her from feeling so islanded and out-of-place.

And of course, Kayla the COS only has time to mentor Paige, a college-aged intern who wants to talk about her personal life all the time. Ugh.

Um, the one in the middle please!!!! But only 13 weeks! I can’t take this revolving door of characters anymore! It’s sad that with the way TV has devolved, that actors and characters are as disposable as crappy diapers.

As long as the character is appealing and the actor is capable/has some charisma, I’m all for new characters. I just hate how these people get dumped on-screen and we’re magically supposed to care all about them.
