What Happened in Salem: Week of March 9th

Another week, another set of inane, generally dull happenings with a few bright spots…

Stefano enlisted Victor’s help in bringing down Kate via corporate sabotage (as opposed to the much easier route of destroying Salem’s supply of green hair dye). Victor turned right around and told Kate about Stefano’s offer, though it was unclear if this was an actual double-cross or a fake double-cross to make Kate think Victor was on her side. Meanwhile, Kate plotted to have Chad ousted from DiMera Enterprises — and was shocked when Stefano showed up at the board meeting.

What’s happening in that boardroom? I don’t understand at all, but it’s going to be exciting to watch! I’m assuming that Stefano knew Victor would tell Kate about his phone call based on the scene of him “conducting” (subtle as always, DAYS writers) an opera after the scene with Victor telling her…

My favorite thing that happened last week..a drunk Teresa telling Paige to make sure her new date wasn’t gay. “Cause, the last guy I dated briefly turned out to be gay. I should’ve known, what straight man wouldn’t be into all of this!”

Drunk Theresa was great! I got the feeling Jen Lilley was ad-libbing some of that. She was getting good reactions out of KdP and even that telephone pole that plays Paige.

This week was dull! I watched it, but when I think about it I remember almost nothing that happened.

Let’s see: Serena ALMOST got the elephant, but the writers decided that they must drag this on even longer, because they have nothing better to write about. So that’s fun. At least she doesn’t want to stay in Salem except to get that stupid elephant, so she’ll probably bolt out of there as soon as she gets it (which will be in, like, a year judging from this pace). The tone in her voice annoyed me so much when she was talking about Eric, she obviously doesn’t care at all about him. I just keep thinking: good grief, what is wrong with this character??

Nicole had a conversation with Aiden because she wanted to “jumpstart” (!) her relationship with Daniel. Uhh.. What?? I have nothing else to say about this contrived, dull storyline between Nicole and Daniel.

Will was a douchebag (we already discussed this in the last thread)

Poor Hope & Aiden – who are the most interesting, dynamic couple on the show right now in my opinion cannot even buy airtime.

…and we still have a few more months of these godawful writers.

    What is going on?

It was REALLY hard to write the recap for this week because basically nothing new happened. Thank god for that horribly Photoshopped pic of Tori, because there was nothing else to make fun of! Jen, Eve, and JJ are having the same conversations over and over, Theresa/Brady/Melanie are on every day and nothing actually HAPPENS, etc.

I have to admit, though, seeing Kate and Stefano fight was amusing. “HE SET ME UP!” Typical Days (in a good way). I don’t think I could ever get sick of them bickering. Remember right before Kate slept with Rafe when she talked to Stefano on the phone and he called her a “strega nonna”? Lol

Totally. Their interplay is so good. Kate screaming, “You son of a bitch!” was so good. Thank god for the two actors and their history!
