Lady of the Lake

What is Tori Narita so terrified of — that Paul will find out that her Instagram is really just badly Photoshopped pics of her in front of stock backgrounds, since she’s never been outside the cyborg colony until now?

I can’t decide if this or that horrifying TruVista cover is worse, but that’s sort of like having to choose whether you’d like to spend an eternity locked in a closet with Jordan or Serena. At least intrepid detective Hope Williams Brady is on the case. Fancy Eyes over here can spot a DiMera boathouse from anywhere on Earth, but she can’t notice when she’s staring at some Getty Images shit? Ooooookay.

Credit where credit is due, however: Kate, as usual, looks fabulous.

Lauren Koslow must dress herself, right? Though I’m sure the writers will find some way to foul it up sooner or later.

Enter KATE, wearing a HIDEOUS BLOUSE she borrowed from Eve…

As far as Friday endings go, at least this one made me happy.

Would it kill them to throw us a classic Stefano DiMera “It’s good to be back,” though?

Kate’s outfit was amazing Friday I agree but she and Chad together looked like the SNL “Flight Attendants” sketch from back in the day. Buh-Bye… I should have seen it coming from a mile away but Stefano’s return actually sort of kind of surprised me! I was never really sure why he was filming from an undisclosed location anyway for so long (his health? filming all his scenes in 1 day alone?) but I am glad he is back interacting with real people again! And on his 86th birthday, too. Nice!

    • mykleraus Says:

OMG they totally looked like that! Hahahaha. Chad’s tie was all jacked up, too — I kept wanting to fix the knot.

Joe Mascolo was having some health problems. I think he broke his leg, and I guess it was easier to film him on a solo set than to have him in the DiMera mansion. I’m really glad he’s back in Salem, though. He looks great for 86!

I am very happy to see Stefano back in Salem. I want to see him take his company back and get revenge on Clyde.

  3. Jamie Says:

What year did Hope say the boathouse was destroyed and rebuilt? Sometime in the 90’s, and Tori hasn’t aged a day since! There’s solid proof she isn’t human.

  4. Dylan Says:

What a dumb, contrived way to do this “paternity” storyline. Obviously as you said it is so clearly photoshopped. Also, I don’t see any boathouse in the picture. It could be ANY lake in that background.
Also, I can’t stand Will even more now than last week. What happened to this guy? I don’t understand how he thinks that blackmailing Tori is going to make anything better. If anything, Sonny will find out and then that will make things worse for the two of them.

Stefano is such a hoot. I guess now it’s time for the Salem PD to attempt to arrest him for tax evasion, or whatever.

    • Jamie Says:

Will is beyond awful in this story line! I don’t understand how he can justify putting all of the blame on Paul. Apparently, he truly is his mother’s son. At least Sami was likable as she was doing her misdeeds. Will…not so much.

      • mykleraus Says:

Will is acting like a damn nut. He’s blaming Paul for his own irresponsible choice and acting like Paul is some kind of supervillain who slept with him just to free up Sonny. It’s craziness.

    • mykleraus Says:

Will is an idiot. He’s marching around blaming Paul for everything that’s gone on in his life, which is so clearly insane. I do like Will and Lucas kinda teaming up to scheme against the Naritas, even if the premise is stupid.

      • otherweb1 Says:

Will is SUCH a fucking tool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing more horrifying than a storyline with Will instantly turning into Sami overnight is having to watch Guy Wilson SO not being able to pull it off. His big moment with Tori in her hotel room was so incredibly painful to watch, not to mention the joking Will and Lucas did back at the apt. I’ve had MANY reasons over the past 3 decades to swear myself off of Days for good, and this Will bad-ass thing tops every other one! Although, it might be nice to stick around to find out in a year or so that John is Paul’s father. But that’s how much of a disaster this Will thing is, the disadvantages of having to suffer through it far outweigh the advantages of seeing a Paul/John father and son storyline….unless Paul is Stefano’s kid …
But combining this Will joke with the elephant bull, Nicole and Daniel storyline embarrassment, having Aiden and Hope take 18 months to get interesting for exactly one week only to drop off the scene map again entirely, the total crap of the supposed storyline on Ben’s near charges, etc., just seals the deal. What a joke this whole show has become. I am so out now! Hulu has plenty that is actually entertaining. I blame young stupid writers and clueless execs for Days downfall. I just feel bad for the veteran actors who have to be a part of the embarrassment.

      • mykleraus Says:

What’s weird is that this is the same team that put together the awesome Kristen and Nick stories in 2012-13. Those were intricate and steeped in history. And now we’ve got… all this mess. It’s alarming. I actually think the show would benefit from some NEW writing blood, not just cycling through the same writing teams over and over. Pair up a talented younger/newer writer with a co-HW who knows the history.

The only thing about the Will stuff I enjoyed was Lucas getting scheme-y. That felt very vintage Lucas, and Dattilo clearly has fun doing it. Other than that, this whole thing is a stinker.

      • Dylan Says:

I agree with you otherweb1. Actually a big reason that I still watch Days is because of this blog – it’s so nice to see someone make fun of all the ridiculous things on the show and it makes it more entertaining to watch imagining what you’ll be mocking. It sucks that Will is so terrible because I love Christopher Sean as Paul – he’s amazing

      • mykleraus Says:

That’s a huge compliment. Thanks. I don’t think I could’ve watched this show for so long if I didn’t have ways of talking to other like-minded people about it, for sure…

  5. Cheers to DAYS for actually producing a good ol’ fashioned Friday/twist cliffhanger! The last minute on Fridays used to ALWAYS be something to look forward to , and speculate about with friends over the weekend.

I have no idea what’s going to happen on Monday, nor do I want to know. It’s been awhile since I’ve waited the weekend to eagerly tune in Monday to find out “what happens next.” You don’t need explosions or high budget sets to make this happen, just some decent plotting and good writing.
