None of this is monumental, and some of it is straight-up speculation, but I’m putting it behind a cut regardless…

No, literally. Monday’s episode ended with a mysterious hand rocking a mysterious baby in a cradle (actually, I’m not certain there was rocking, but “The Hand That Touched the Crib” sounds like a much more boring movie, so let’s go with the first one).
Cute baby! And it’s doubly cute because its appearance means this story might actually get moving.
I know I’ve complained about Melanie lately, but Molly Burnett seems like a real team player, so God bless her for sitting there and spouting that ridiculous dialogue to try and make it sound medically plausible for Theresa’s fetus to have been removed from her body and implanted into someone else’s — all the while managing not to topple over from the weight of those Christmas ornaments on her ears!
(Also, how random was that extended conversation between Maggie and Melanie about how Sarah is considering being a surrogate for a friend? It served a plot purpose in that it got Melanie to ponder another woman carrying Theresa and Brady’s baby, but it’s so rare for this show to give any real attention to offscreen characters that way. Things that make you go Hmmm…)
Meanwhile, any time I start to get annoyed with Eve on account of her role in this idiotic JJ/Paige story, remind me to think about scenes with her and Theresa.
Kassie dePaiva and Jen Lilley are nailing this reluctant-sisterly-bond thing. It really adds dimension to Theresa, and it gives me hope that there’s a place for this Eve outside that odious Young Love From Hell storyline.
Here’s a recap, in case you were under the impression that this was a show on which significant things actually happened…
While JJ and Paige celebrated being back together, the makers of ZzzQuil cursed their luck at once again having such formidable competition.
Read the full thing to find out What Happened in Salem (spoiler alert: not a hell of a lot!) this week.
My friend Ira, who writes for Buzzfeed, did a really fantastic piece on Christopher Sean (Paul) that not only deserves some love, but is a genuinely great read. Give it a look: The Actor Who is Changing How We See Asian Men on Television.
SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) strikes again! Go behind the cut for the latest casting news…
Kate looks terrific!
Love the dress and the necklace.
Nicole’s hair and attire look much nicer than they have recently!
It should not be this much of an accomplishment that a beautiful, statuesque woman on television doesn’t look terrible, but here we are.
(Please note that my cheery commentary has nothing to do with the events unfolding onscreen this week.)
I’ve been contributing recaps over at SoapHub.com for the past several weeks, and I’ve just had my first ‘special’ feature published over there — a “What Days of Our Lives Character Are You?” quiz. Hop on over and give it a whirl!
