Ladies of the Night

How nice that someone’s mother won a walk-on role!

I love these ridiculous busybody characters. They always seem so delighted to butt in on other people’s misery.

If only Nicole had been wearing her horrible ostrich coat during her catfight with Serena, maybe this woman could’ve also told her how ugly it is.

And I think I officially hate Serena. She’s just being presented as so unreasonable and, frankly, crazy. The saving grace of this whole thing could be if the story twists and Serena does turn out to be nuts, and no one believes Nicole but she’s eventually vindicated. I’m just not interested in episodes upon episodes of people telling Nicole how untrustworthy and bad she is. As is the case with this show in general lately, I have no idea what they want me to root for, but it’s probably the opposite of what I’m actually feeling.

Paul has a mother with a shifty aversion to Salem, so I guess it’s time to start placing bets on which Salem resident is his biological father. I wouldn’t hate if it were John, honestly. And apparently she lives in the Mad World offices/Madison’s old hotel room, based on the wallpaper.

I guess it’s better than the time Laura Horton lived on a sofa in the corner of the St. Luke’s office, but still.

When I die, i hope to be reincarnated as either 1) a mom who wins a walk-on role on Days via a Swiffer sweepstakes, or 2) the girl with the eyepatch at University Hospital during a reading of The Christmas Story.

That fight was fun though! Let Serena be crazy, as long as there’s more to the story than just being in love with Eric.

Paul’s mom also lives in/or works at the old spa that taught MMA fighting to cougars (Billie).

      DEAD at the eyepatch.

I forgot the spa had those walls, too. Let’s never forget the highly professional practice of kickboxing in the lobby with a thousand people walking by!

LOL 😄 I could possibly see John being Paul’s Dad. If that were the case, It works me bc there’s a “personal touch” to the story. In real life, prior to acting Drake Hogestyn went to USF on a baseball scholarship, got drafted to MLB, and played 3rd Base for the NY Yankees farm team in the late ’70s until he got injured. (That’s pretty sad I knew that). I’m not quite sure how old Paul is, my guess is he’s in his late 20s? John hooking up with Tori Norita may not be congruent with history; John was either with Diana Coleville or Marlena (while he was Roman) during that time. Well, the writers never ever would dare tweak the story! 😉 Another possibly for Paul’s padre (not referring to his old team) is Stefano. This makes sense bc Stefano travels the world and has come and gone over the years (mainly due to fake deaths/running from the law). Plus, Stefano loves Asian women. Who else is so evil they could make Tori Norita be so scared/strongly opposed to going to Salem? Also, Tori seemed like she wanted Paul to go back to “the city” ASAP! Let’s make a call to Maury Povich and figure this out…

I was thinking of the baseball connection, too. They even gave them that quick little meeting in the Town Square. I wouldn’t hate it, and it would give John another connection to the younger scene. The timing makes ZERO sense (Paul is clearly younger than Brady, and John was pretty much onscreen nonstop from the time Brady was born until his ‘death’ in 2007), but of all characters, John’s had so many disappearances and memory wipes and stuff that I think they could sell it.

Good point about Stefano, but ugh.

    • Erin L. Says:

HAHA! I was thinking the same thing about Stefano being into Asian women!

  3. Andie Says:

That random lady in the club kind of reminded me of a younger Patrika Darbo aka Chloe’s Mom, Nancy. 😄 I didn’t quite get why she was animate about being a tattle tale on Nicole and then turning around and being uncertain once Rafe questioned her, ridiculous. Attention whore?

  4. Dan Says:

How about Paul Dimera? And the next generation of the Kiriakis-Dimera feud can continue with Sonny and Paul’s not so secret love for one another.

I’m just watching this week now. I don’t think Tori Narita’s reaction was so much to Salem as to “grandfather.” Since we never saw a casting call for Asian male over the age of sixty, I’m thinking grandpa died and Tori decided not to tell Paul.

    • mykleraus Says:

      Good point about the grandfather.

If they’re going to make Paul a DiMera, can they please find a way to make him Tony’s son?! That would be an interesting layer for Stefano.

      • Andie Says:

Dan–Good call! If Paul’s Grandfather passed away then his “coming out” will be probably a lot easier; I have a hunch his Mother would be more accepting but, perhaps she would upset primarily because she, had to read about it with the rest of the world.

The interesting thing about Tony is he’s always thought of as “Stefano’s son”(including by Stefano) but, he’s not Stefano’s biological son. Tony’s Mom, Daphne had an affair (that’s pretty pathetic the same name was recycled for Paige’s boring/pointless friend). Nonetheless, I think having some Dimera grand children in town (even if not by blood) would be fabulous. We only have Theo at the moment and he’s hardly ever on.

      • mykleraus Says:

Tony’s parentage is so confusing. At some point in the 2000s, they seemed to undo the thing about him being Stefano’s biological son, but they never said anything explicitly. And if he’s not Stefano’s son, how did he have an identical DiMera cousin (Andre)? Or did Andre get plastic surgery? It’s all screwy anyway, because Tony was on that damn island for 20+ years due to the retcon in 2007…
