OK … so they totally dropped the ball on Maxine and Abe. It came so out of nowhere, that I’m guessing it was not part of the plan, but maybe in response to fans not wanting that storyline? Either that, or it’s just part of the standard deliberate story progression? Maybe they are just off for now, but will slowly get back on? Either way, was it just me, or did they decide to call it quits offscreen? Because I don’t recall them having the convo Maxine told Dr. Dan about. Speaking of Dr. Dan, couldn’t they just have used to heavy duty scar concealing makeup on his lip????? Instead of having to go through the cheese of everyone but Eric asking what happened to him? At first I thought, “Oh ok, it’s going to impair his speaking, so that’s why they have to make this deal out of it.” But no, he’s talking fine … so did they not have any Dermablend in stock?

That’s a good point about the scar! Their decisions constantly baffle me. (Then again, Dermablend is probably expensive…)

I think that Maxine/Daniel conversation was just their way of keeping that thread alive. They’re (sadly) never going to write an actual Abe/Maxine story that gets real screentime, so it’s probably just going to run in the background like this.
