My Blood Ran Cold That Day

Did you hear that sound? It was me, shrieking into the night at the sight of this:

I really kind of thought we might be moving past this Daniel/Jennifer thing. For as much screentime as the JJ/Theresa/Daniel mess has been getting in the past several weeks, “Dannifer” has almost seemed like an afterthought. And then JJ had to go and tell Jen the truth, and we ended the week on this.

Okay, sorry. On the plus side, Melissa Reeves looks pretty damn good, and maybe — pretty please — they’ll just slap them back together and continue to use them in supporting capacities in other story lines. Oh, who am I kidding? They’re going to “make love,” revel in their bliss for a week, and then some other psycho is going to crop up and separate them on some flimsy idiotic basis, and we’ll get months more of “longing” (mostly me longing for a barf bag).

I sometimes wonder if Ken Corday has a secret grudge against Melissa Reeves and that’s why Jennifer’s character has grown so self-righteous and unlikeable through the years — and why they dumped her popular co-star Matt Ashford to create the much less (much, MUCH less) popular pairing with Shawn Christian. I have no proof, but it seems strange that TPTB seem so unaware of how despised Dannifer is and continue to push it, along with the characterization of Jennifer that seems designed to make her unlikeable. I mean, they couldn’t be watching this crap and think otherwise, could they?

    • Shawn Christian seems aware of the Dannifer backlash. Michael Fairman told him in a hilarious interview.

My guess Eve is the next Dannifer interloper. Kassie DePaiva doesn’t deserve that.

It’s so bizarre. I don’t believe they would intentionally tank the show by putting a couple they knew sucked on the front-burner, but it’s INSANE to me that this show is so fixated on Daniel. I actually don’t even mind him in a very supporting capacity, but the pretzels they’ve tied themselves in to make him the leading man are nuts.

In an interview, Ken Corday once referred to Dan/Jennifer as a supercouple “like Bo and Hope”

what other “leading men” are there?? srsly….i just can’t go into the pitiful, redundant, predictable or non existent deets of brady, roman, abe, the gays, victor, john…..oh, nvr mind…..

.lucas, the kinda sorta priest… maybe….not……who else? NICK!!! Mr. Greetings…….. oy. ok. i’m done.

It’s gotten really bad. The show does a pretty great job of writing from the women’s POV, but the men are so lacking. Brady should be more of a leading man. And we need Bo back! Eric is probably the closest right now.
