Royalty- and Dignity-Free

I might regret this later, but I’m totally onboard with Sami, EJ, and their Romp Through The Gauzy Curtains.

I just want them to pick a narrative and go with it. Sami and EJ really, truly get each other? Fine, fine. Just stop with this triangle already.

It seemed awfully bold to set a Sami/EJ sex scene to the same song used for Carrie and Rafe last year, though. Pointed or cheap? You decide. (It also seemed bold to make us listen to that horrible song again…)

Speaking of cheap — and yes, I could pretty much use that as a transition into anything relating to Days of Our Lives — it’s nice that Stefano was able to get his European hideout outfitted with the exact same French doors, curtains, and chair he has at home in Salem.

And then John just waltzed right in like the place was the Brady Pub. You would think, after that experience in which eight people stomped into his house with guns and ostensibly murdered him, that Stefano might lock the door or something, but nope. Someone slip him a DVD of Zero Dark Thirty, would you?

The E.J. / Sami story doesn’t do anything for me, but I thought the sex scenes were well executed with the lighting and the cuts. There was a couple of rather racy shots too of Alison Sweeney.

Where is Stefano again? Downtown Europe? I thought they said Germany at one point, but wasn’t he reading an Italian newspaper? Granted, he could have had it sent to him I guess.

I was kind of hoping John was going to unite with Stefano to prevent Kristen and Brady from getting married. Oh well.

The sex scenes lately have been good, IMO. There was a period where they were really flat and vanilla, but at least it’s possible to believe these characters are having sex lately.

Stefano was in Germany not too long ago. He appears to be in a different room now, but who the hell knows? I was chuckling at the Italian paper for no real reason.

When John walked in and Stefano greeted him that way, it seemed like something was up — especially with how nonchalantly DH played John’s reaction to Stefano’s over-the-top greeting. I had the same thought as you.

At first, it did bother me that John and Stefano embraced, but this is the first time John has seen Stefano since he became undead for the millionth time. Maybe John’s just happy because he knows he might have a storyline again?

I really want John and Stefano to team up to save their children. I think it would be a nice twist without being out of character for either John or Stefano.

That would be so good! And it would truly be something we haven’t seen before. Maybe this wedding thing will get them there…

Maybe they could remind Kristen and Brady that they are related since John and Stefano are brothers. At least she was adopted. I have never understood why they made them brothers if they are never going to pursue any storyline about that.

I think the previous regime did that, or at least they set it up and Higley & Tomlin saw it through. But as soon as RoboJohn played out and they shipped off J&M, they seemed to want to stop acknowledging it. I’m so tired of retcons of John’s background, but I honestly would be fine with them undoing that one.
